1st REGIONAL CONFERENCE ON ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND OPEN INNOVATION IN UNIVERSITY- INDUSTRY COLLABORATION (iDEAlab-2016) HELD AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NOVI SAD

In the frame of the iDEAlab project the 1st Regional Conference on Entrepreneurship and Open Innovation in University-Industry Collaboration –iDEAlab 2016, was organized at the University of Novi Sad from 21st to 23rd of September 2016. iDEAlab conference was organized in collaboration with the biannual MCP-CE 2016 conference (International Conference on Mass Customization and Personalization in Central Europe). iDEAlab project aims to promote student’s entrepreneurship and Open Innovation through cooperation among universities and industry and MCP-CE conference promote Open Innovation concept for 12 years now in the region of central and southeast Europe and that is why this synergy was created.
The whole programme was held in the new building of the Rectorate of the University of Novi Sad.
On the opening ceremony guests were welcomed by prof. dr Zoran Anišić, MCP-CE chairman, Vladimir Todorovic, iDEAlab coordinator, prof.dr Rade Doroslovacki, Dean of Faculty of Technical Sciences, prof. dr Snezana Smederevas, Vice-rector for Research and prof. dr Bojan Lalic, Head of Department of Industrial Engineering and management.
Key note speakers were:
Paul Blazek, cyLEDGE Media GmbH, Vienna, Austria
Dr. Paul Blazek is a customization evangelist and entrepreneur. As founder and CEO of cyLEDGE Media, Europe’s leading customization experience agency, he supported more than 100 companies in the creation of their online product configurators and started several research projects including the Configurator Database Project that became the world’s largest collection of web-based configurators.
Kelvin Willoughby, Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology, Moscow, Russia
Kelvin Willoughby is Professor of Innovation and Intellectual Property, and Associate Dean of Education, at the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology, in Moscow. He is an expert on the management of intellectual property, technology-based entrepreneurship, and strategic planning for technology-based industry development.. Professor Willoughby has extensive experience as an educator, researcher and industry consultant in the United States, Europe, Asia, Australia and Russia; and has directed a variety university-industry projects and graduate programs in business and the management of technological innovation.
Within the iDEAlab congerence papers were presented in two sessions:
I Entrepreneurial education
II Entrepreneurial incubation and policy
Also two round tables, which gathered the experts form the region, with the following topics were organized:
I Era of open innovation
II Making entrepreneurs in the campus
This joint event gathered around 60 attendants from more than 15countries.
It is our goal to establish iDEAlab regional conference as annual conference and show room for realized cases in the region with the aim to become a platform where all actors in realisation will gather and share their experience.
