iDEAlab project was involved in developing, organizing and supporting DaFED#32 event, which was held on Wednesday, May 6, at the Amphitheatre of the central building of the University of Novi Sad in the spirit of PHP Development.
Speakers shared their experience and knowledge of the areas of PHP Development, focusing on practical application.
Elasticsearch (ES), an open source search server, has been the focus of lectures given by Milos Milojevic, Web application programmer in the company Eton Digital. ES search server based on Luceneu, one of the popular open source search software, is optimized for text search. Milos explained the way the EC functions and demonstrated the installation and configuration of the server implementation ES services through a concrete Symfony project.

The second lecture was given by Sasa Stamenkovic, a Web developer in KNP Labs, one of the founders of Tilda coworking space in Nis and a member of Sylius development team. Visitors had the opportunity to hear what is the idea behind the popular methodology BDD (Behavior Driven Development Methodology), software development methodology with a focus on application behavior, and how it is used. Sasa has explained the basic concepts of this kind of software development, problems that BDD solves and in what way, and all of this is possible thanks to the Gherkin, structured language that is used to describe the behavior of the server (functionality) and Behat, a tool which enables the use of the Gherkin in PHP.
