Opening ceremony of the laboratories in Zenica - iDEAlab and Laboratory of environmental monitoring

On 9 May 2016, a solemn ceremony was held in the premises of the Faculty of mechanical engineering of the University of Zenica, when iDEAlab (generated from TEMPUS Project iDEAlab, which is coordinated by the University of Novi Sad, Serbia) and the Laboratory of environmental monitoring – LOM (generated from TEMPUS Project RESI, which is coordinated by the University of Hohenheim, Germany) were officially opened.
Although these two labs have been in use for some time now, the ”best” moment for their solemn opening was waited for: the Anniversary of the Faculty and Europe Day coincide and presented an excellent opportunty to host numerous guests, students, companies’ representatives from the Central Bosnia, who packed the amphitheater, where Dean Assist. Prof. Dr Fuad Hadžikadunić shortly presented 39 years of work of this HEI. Consecutively, Prof. Dr Darko Petković, Director of CIP/EIC UNZE, gave a brief introduction of UNZE’s participation in the international projects and their results in the past several years. He also emphasized the importance of internationalisation, which asks for further, continuous engagement.
Concerning iDEAlab, Prof. Dr Petković mentioned it should be a place for development of student entrepreneurship and innovation at MF UNZE. In the second part, Prof. Dr Šefket Goletić introduced LOM of MF UNZE and a new master study in the field of renewable energy sources and environmental aspects, which will start next academic year at this Faculty.
The labs were declared open by Rector of the University of Zenica Prof. Dr Dževad ZeÄić, and after that, the hosts took the guests to these new premises, where they were greeted by the coordinators of labs, who gave them the additonal pieces of information, i.e. these were: Vice-dean of teaching process and student affairs Prof. Dr Amra Talić and Senior Assist. MSc Denis Spahić in MF’s iDEAlab; and Assist. Prof. Dr Nusret Imamović and Assist. Prof. Dr Džafer Dautbegović in MF’s LOM.
